Poor design. The Leader Eater does not readily grab and pull excess tippet and leader material into its housing. I had to keep pushing the line in and manipulate shape and angle to get it started. The old MonoMaster did a much better job immediately grabbing material but unfortunately it had its own flaw in that it regularly fell apart. Bad investment.

Were you trying to place it into the top trash receptacle or were you placing it into the side with the velcro on the inside? Did you roll it up with the spinning top piece?
Solved my problem of what to do with used leader and line. Light weight and easy to use. Great product!
Got this for my husband who is a guide, and he loves it! Much better than the mesh bag he was using. Neat and tidy, easy to use.
Although I haven't been stream side to pick up discarded line, yet, I do like how the unit works to pull the line in. Then it keeps it contained until you are ready to unload it at a recycling container
